Objective: Improve the thermal inefficiency of office rooms on the west facade of the building, with relatively high window-to-wall ratios. Existing windows are monolithic bronze tinted glass captured in a tubular aluminum framing system with wood interior surrounds. Employees working in these offices feel too cold in winter months, with office desks placed around the perimeter of the rooms against the windows. In addition, employees experience a tremendous amount of disturbing glare and reflective solar heat gain through the windows.
