AAMA, a third-party organization that is a leading window industry source of performance standards and certification, rates the window's ability to withstand wind loads, water resistance and air infiltration rate.

Air Infiltration: Critical to the Energy Performance of Your Windows

When understanding the benefits of super-insulating SeriousWindows, it is important to understand the amount of heating or cooling that can leak around the window, or "infiltrate". The air infiltration rate measures the amount of air that passes through a window. The lower the air infiltration rate, the lower amount of air passes through gaps in or around the window. In other words, the less heating and cooling is leaking out of your window frames. Air infiltration is typically measured in CFM/ft² (cubic feet of air per minute/square footage of the window). The Efficient Windows Collaborative recommends selecting windows that have an air infiltration rate of 0.3 or below. Many styles of super-insulating SeriousWindows have an air infiltration value of less than 0.05. SeriousWindows 525 Series offers several options, including split colors finishes and stainable interior wood veneers that can be combined in a variety of ways. Our stainable interior wood veneers are made of real fir and oak and fused to frame to provide the look and warmth of traditional wood windows. Our durable finishes don’t require painting, but if desired can easily painted in the future to complement your homes décor.

1. Minimum width of opening: 20 inches
2. Minimum height of opening: 24 inches
3. Minimum net clear opening, ground floor: 5.0 sq ft
4. Minimum net clear opening, all other floors: 5.75 sq ft
5. Maximum latch height above floor: 54 inches
6. Maximum sill height above floor: 44 inches
